Gordon Brown's opening speech at the World Economic Forum was rudely interrupted - by his own phone ringing.

"I'm afraid that's my phone", Brown said in embarrassment, and got a laugh from the reporters with "I'm not telling you" when asked who was calling.

The incident revealed that Brown favours the classic Nokia ringtone as used by Dom Joly in his giant mobile phone comedy sketches.

It also puts into contrast Brown's mobile comms methods compared to the recent publicity about US president Barack Obama's love of his BlackBerry and the furore over potential security issues.
