Top secret "Zumba" phone revealed

But too secret to film

30 January 2009 15:28 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

A new phone called the Zumba, being manufactured in Hereford, is said to offer "the world's first fully accurate voice recognition system for mobile phones".

IA Technology make the unusual device that comes in two parts, and also make some bold claims in a brief BBC news report.

One part - an ear hook type device - detaches from the body of the phone and users wear it over their ear, and can then, at the touch of a button, send text messages using speech alone, while the phone's data - including contacts - is stored on a "100% secure" website.

With the technology apparently "too secret" to discuss or show working, news of the Zumba is being met with slightly raised eyebrows across the blogosphere.
