LeapFrog has announced that it plans to follow up its LeapFrog Tag Reading System launched last year with a new version aimed at 2 to 4-year-olds.

The new system, called LeapFrog Tag Junior will offer a similar technology that allows infants to interact with paper books.

Redesigned into a cute green or pink frog rather than a pen, the idea is that you touch the base of the frog (called the book pal) on the page and it will read out the story via its book pal's speaker.

Like the Tag Reading System you'll also be able to hear sound effects embedded in the pictures and listen to music, however LeapFrog has said that the system is considerably simpler than the previous system aimed at 4 to 8-year-olds.

LeapFrog plans to offer a range of hardback books beyond the six it has outlined for launch later in the year.

Titles so far feature Disney's Winnie the Pooh, Dora the explorer and Dr Seuss.

Tag Junior which includes the book pal and one book will cost £29.99.
