M Festival 2009 gaming event confirmed and dated

20 January 2009 12:03 GMT / By Verity Burns

Multiplay, the organisers of some of the UK's largest multiplayer gaming events, has announced the return of its flagship event - the M Festival.

M Festival Spring is set to take place at Stoneleigh Park from 10 - 13 April 2009, and is no doubt hoping to mirror the success of last year's event.

Visitors will be able to check out all the latest hardware and software from some of the top names in the gaming industry that will fill the 3000sqm exhibition hall.

There will be competitions and prizes to be won throughout the weekend, including EA's £10,000 Fifa '09 tournament and the UK's largest LAN party that will see over 2000 PC gamers compete in games such as Halo 3 and Rock Band.

Aside from the gaming, there will also be a whole host of outdoor activities planned for the weekend including quad biking.

"M Festival was such a big success for us last year we never doubted it would return" said Craig Fletcher, managing director of Multiplay".

"An event like M Festival can really help stimulate the industry and consumers at a time which might otherwise appear bleak. We’re not happy with just running another event; we’re raising the bar once again and making M Festival Spring a turning point for UK gaming".
