29 December 2008 16:56 GMT / By Verity Burns

The first Arabic online MMO game is set to enter its open beta test in early 2009, after its second closed beta finishes on 30 December.

Arabic Rappelz, published by Game Power 7, is an Arabic version of Rappelz, a famous MMORPG that is already published in more than 10 regions and countries, including China, France, Taiwan and Russia.

It is the first MMO game in the Middle East and North Africa region to be specifically localised to the Arabic language and culture.

Rappelz is a free-to-play game set in a medieval fantasy world, dominated by three races - the Deva, who represent light, the Asura, who represent darkness, and the Gaia, humans that possess an affinity with nature.

The commercial release of Arabic Rappelz is expected to be launched at the beginning of February 2009.
