Wireless SingStar mics planned for 2009?

A MySpace competition lets it slip

When Sony released the PS3 version of SingStar, many people were disappointed to find wireless microphone's hadn't been developed with the game.

After the release of Xbox's Lips that did feature wireless mics, it seemed like it would only be a matter of time until Sony followed suit. And we may not have long to wait.

Although no announcement has been made, the SingStar MySpace page featured a competition to win a pair of wireless mics.

It read: "We've managed to get our hands on a pre-release batch of SingStar wireless microphones and we're giving 100 SingStar fans the chance to test them out before anyone else!

"Out next year, the official SingStar wireless microphones will work on both PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 and allow you to really bust out your moves without busting your console".

Brilliant news. There's been no official statement from Sony as yet, but the competition has now closed funnily enough. Did MySpace let the cat out of the bag?
