Tuxedos and ballgowns up for grabs

Xbox offers free formal wear for your avatar

18 December 2008 14:07 GMT / By Verity Burns

It's Christmas time and Microsoft wants your 360 avatars dressed in their Sunday best for the occasion. Therefore they've updated the Xbox front-end and are offering some free new clothes.

Male avatars get to choose from a rather dashing powder-blue tuxedo, a black one, a pleated shirt with bow tie and cummerbund, and two hats - a trilby and a bowler.

Ladies on the other hand get the choice of a ball gown, a little black dress, a trouser suit, strappy heels, platforms and some accessories - red Jackie O shades and an "elegant watch".

You'll be able to spot the new kit in the avatar editor easily as there will be gold stars next to items that are new since you last logged in.
