Microsoft boss says PS3 Home is outdated

Says it's "2005 tech in 2008"

Group product manager for Xbox 360 Aaron Greenberg, has done his best to take the shine off the open beta launch of PS3 Home today by slamming it as outdated.

"What Home to me feels like is Second Life for hardcore gamers. It doesn't feel like it broadens the experience and invites people in", said Greenberg.

"When they unveiled it, it seemed innovative. I think what's happened is now here we are a couple of years later and we feel beyond that".

"It feels like 2005 tech in 2008. I'm not sure that's what people want", he added.

Of course standing by his product, Greenberg also said that there was a "huge gap" between the quality of Xbox Live and the quality of Home.

Home has not been short of criticism recently, with EA's founder Trip Hawkins saying he thought that the service was unsure of its target audience and will struggle to capture the mass market in the same way as Nintendo and Xbox Live Arcade.
