Over 28 million Rock Band songs downloaded

In just over a year since its release

Rock Band fans across the world have clocked up more than 28 million song downloads since its release just over a year ago.

Currently, the Rock Band store has 345 songs to chose from, from 239 different artists. If you add on all the songs from discs, it means there are over 500 songs for players to choose from.

As anyone that has downloaded a Rock Band song will know, one track costs 160 Microsoft Points, which is equivalent to £1.36. Do the maths and that's around £38 million in the pockets of everyone behind the game if every game was bought separately. Very nice too.

Of course, many of the tracks will have been bought as part of bundle packs, which makes them a bit cheaper. Even then, the profits are hardly going to be something to be sniffed at.
