Cooking Mama to try her hand at gardening

Mama gets green fingers

Majesco has announced it is to release a Gardening Mama game as an extension to the popular Cooking Mama brand.

505 Games will be the European publisher of the game, which will see Mama venturing out of the kitchen and into the great outdoors to turn an empty garden into one full of greenery.

Similar to how Cooking Mama had players engaging in different stages of a recipe, Gardening Mama breaks the plant growing process up into small mini-games.

You'll use the touchscreen and stylus to dig holes, plant seeds, and mix fertiliser to grow a range of fruits, flowers and vegetables.

Ian Howe, managing director of 505 Games, said: "The Cooking Mama brand continues to be one of our strongest sales successes on Nintendo DS and we’re confident Gardening Mama will be a fantastic addition to the series".

Gardening Mama is set for release in Europe in Spring 2009.
