World at War DLC will be "untraditional"

Up to three packs expected in 2009

World at War DLC will be "untraditional"

Call of Duty: World at War fans can look forward to downloadable content in 2009, according to the game's executive producer Daniel Suarez.

However unlike the game itself, which stuck close to the successful formula of its predecessor "Modern Warfare", the downloadable content will be different to what gamers will have seen before.

In a phone interview last week, Suarez confirmed that the game's development team was in the process of working on DLC for the game, and that it would be more than the single multiplayer map-pack that Modern Warfare got earlier this year.

"We want to do at least — the hope is — potentially two, maybe three packs out before we’re all said and done", he said.

He added: "It’s not going to be what we’ve done traditionally. I’ll leave it a little bit mysterious".

Suarez said we can expect a more detailed announcement on the DLC in early 2009 but declined to provide a firm release schedule.

We'll be sure to get full details to you as soon as they're announced.
