Three day entertainment event on Xbox Live

It seems that the Guitar Hero event on Xbox Live we told you about last week is set to be part of a bigger event called Xtival, something Microsoft is describing as a "three day non-stop party available to all Xbox 360 owners".

Starting from midday on the 28 November and going on until the 30th, Xtival will showcase 72 hours of exclusive entertainment, spanning music, movies and games.

The Prodigy will be kicking off the festival, offering an exclusive downloadable HD video of the title track from their new album due out in March next year and cheerily-named Invaders Must Die.

"This is the first time our fans will be able to download exclusive material from the new album, and we are glad to be part of the Xtival weekend," said The Prodigy's Liam Howlett.

Next up, Britain's biggest rock and roll band Oasis, will be headlining the virtual festival on Saturday 29 November. Fans of the band will be able to download three songs from their number one album Dig Out Your Soul for Guitar Hero World Tour for a limited time.

Brit Award winners Franz Ferdinand will be closing the festival on Sunday and treating fans to the video of the first single from their new album, due out in January.

As well as music, you can expect HD movies, competitions and gaming tournaments during Xtival, all on Xbox Live.

For full details on what you can expect from Xtival, head over to the event's section on the Xbox website.
