Sony launches PlayStation credit card in US

Earn reward points off Sony products

25 November 2008 11:30 GMT / By Verity Burns

We may be smack bang in the middle of the credit crunch, but Sony has decided to laugh off the talk of any economic recession by launching the new PlayStation credit card in the States.

Aimed at gamers, users of the card will earn reward points every time they spend, that can be traded in against PlayStation and Sony products.

An extra bonus is that anyone registering for a card before the end of December will get $150 (£100) off the cost of a PS3.

So it might not be the best time to be getting a credit card, but if you're in the market for the Sony console, you can't really argue with that.

No news on if we can expect anything similar from Sony in Europe, but we'll keep you updated with any info we get.
