THQ drops lawsuit against Activision-Blizzard

Publishers kiss and make up over box art

THQ has dropped its copyright infringement lawsuit against Activision-Blizzard.

The legal dispute between the two publishers began when THQ said it believed Activision-Blizzard's box art for its upcoming game, Score International Baja 100: The Official Game, was too similar to THQ's already released Baja: Edge of Control.

THQ said that despite contacting Activision on a number of occasions to discuss the matter, the publisher had refused to change its box art, something THQ said was "likely to confuse, cause mistake or deceive the public into believing that the Activision Game originates or is sponsored or approved by THQ, when in fact it is not."

However, it seems Activision-Blizzard has had a change of heart, and has agreed to change the offending box art, something that has obviously cooled THQ down.

The company filed paperwork on November 18th withdrawing its lawsuit.
