Halo Wars dated for February release in US

And Limited Edition goodies detailed

Microsoft has announced that Halo Wars will hit shelves in February 2009, and you'll have either Standard or Limited Collector's Edition to choose from.

As you'd expect from the collector's edition, you'll get a bunch of extra stuff, for an extra bit of cash of course.

Included in this little bundle, you can expect early access to the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3 which includes three new maps- Assembly, Orbital and Sandbox.

You'll also get the Halo Wars: Genesis graphic novel by Phil Noto, Graeme Devine and Eric Nylund which details the first military campaign against the Covenant.

Other goodies include a unique "Honor Guard" Wraith in-game vehicle, six Leader cards, and a Spirit of Fire patch that allows you to start the game as an official Spirit of Fire crew member.

Anyone pre-ordering the Collector's Edition will also get a pre-order card that will allow you to download a special in-game Warthog with a special flame design.

These details have currently only been announced for the States, with the Limited Collector's Edition selling for $79.99. There's no news on when we'll see the bundle in the UK as yet but we'll let you know as soon as we get any information.
