Sony chooses "loyal" gamers for closed Home beta

But won't reveal the list

Sony has announced that the gamers for the European PlayStation Home beta have been chosen, but you'll have to wait until version 1.0 of the much-anticipated online world launches before you'll find out if you're one of the lucky ones.

As to how likely it is you've been picked will apparently depend on your "loyalty".

TedTheDog, Home community manager, explained on the European PlayStation forum: "Your next question is, 'How do you decide who gets picked?' and we had a couple of plans on how that was going to be done and my boss is away so I cant ask him which one he chose (yes, we've picked the names already and no, I'm not going to reveal the list)."

"I'll let you know what I can, once I find out, but both were broadly based on the concept of loyalty. That's very vague I know, I'll firm up what I can, but don't expect too much detail, it was really complicated last time."

American gamers are receiving Home invites now, so although we currently have no date for when we can expect Home Version 1.0 over here, it's hoped it won't be too much longer.

And if you don't get an invite, don't worry. TedTheDog has said that the open beta "won't be far behind" so you shouldn't have to wait too much longer.
