Sony to sell PS3 games through vending machines

Joint venture with Universal

Sony has plans to sell games for its PS3 console in a new line of entertainment vending machines in the UK.

As a joint venture with Universal, you'll be able to find these "PoP" machines everywhere from cinemas and gyms to universities and travel stations, and they'll be filled with DVDs and music as well as games.

The touchscreen vending machines will give you the opportunity to view trailers before you buy, and will also offer you the chance to download music and other media files direct to MP3 players and SD cards.

Apparently there will be some 150 movie titles at launch, but no word as to how many games we can expect as yet.

Dates for when we can expect to see these are yet to be announced, but we'll keep you updated.
