EA boss promises Mercinaries 3

And more, if he has anything to do with it

We'll be seeing a lot more of the Mercinaries series if EA boss John Riccitiello has his way.

Despite the lack of critical praise for Mercinaries 2, Riccitiello has told investors how he has plans to make many more games in the series, and that Mercinaries 3 is a certainty.

"There will be a Mercenaries 3 and, if I have anything to do with it, there will be a Mercenaries 10," said Riccitello.

The reason he can be so sure? Despite the odd slating from the critics, Mercinaries 2 was a huge commercial success, and has sold over 1.9 million copies worldwide to date. That puts it up on the same level as Tiger Woods PGA Tour '09 and Spore.

The news comes just a few days after EA promised sequels for three more popular games, Dead Space, Army of Two, and Battlefield: Bad Company.
