Get spooked with this week's Virtual Console update

Three creepy classics up for grabs

In celebration of Halloween, this week's Virtual Console update is filled with a whole host of spooks and ghouls, thanks to the addition of three rather creepy NES gaming classics.

First up is Devil World, in which you play the heroic dragon Tamagon who is trying to defeat evil by collecting dots inside a maze. As you do.

Destroy any enemies you come across with your fire breath, but keep an eye on the devil at the top of the screen - he instructs his minions to move the maze in random directions, in an attempt to squash you in its walls. How very unneighbourly of him.

The second game up for grabs is Castevania III: Dracula's Curse. Set a century before the previous Castlevania adventures, the game follows another member of the Belmont family - Trevor, and three new allies - Sypha Belnades, a young priestess, Grant DaNasty, a pirate and Alucard, Dracula's son - on a mission to kill Dracula and his evil minions.

Arcade hit Ghosts 'n Goblins rounds off the update this week. Play as Arthur the Knight and face some seriously tough levels in order to save Princess Prin-Prin. Granted - they could've spent a bit longer on the name choice - but it's still a retro corker.

All of the games are available to download now from the Wii Shop for 500 Wii Points each.
