Sony has announced a new software update for the PSP that will improve the way the console handles media.

Confirmed via a post on the US PlayStation blog, it read: "Today we are launching a new version of Media Manager for the PSP that allows you to organise and sync your music, photos and other digital content."

"The new Media Manager also grants access to the PlayStation Store through the PC and is designed to accommodate the expanding functionality of PSP."

Media Manager was originally released three years ago and cost $19.95. The good news is that the new version is free and now available for download from the PlayStation Store.
