World of Warcraft tops 11 million subscribers

Popular MMO World of Warcraft now has over 11 million subscribers playing the game.
Blizzard has announced its milestone ahead of the release of the new expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, which is due out on 13th November.
"It's been very rewarding to see gamers around the world continue to show such strong support for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.
"We remain fully committed to responding to that enthusiasm with a high quality, constantly evolving game experience."
World of Warcraft first hit our shelves in 2004 and has since become the most populat MMORPG in the world. It was named the best-selling PC game in 2005 and 2006, but was pipped to the top spot in 2007 by a WOW expansion - The Burning Crusade.
Happy 11 million subscribers, World of Warcraft.
