Sony's PSP-3000 has managed some impressive sales figures in Japan, after it was released on October 16th.

In its first four days on sale, data shows 141,270 units were sold to hungry handheld gamers. In fact, if you include the sales figures of the older models too, there were 155,720 PSPs bought between October 13th and October 19th.

This is quite a jump from the 19,873 units sold the week before, and has boosted the lifetime sales of the console in Japan to 10,357,481.

As yet, no sales figures have been released for the UK, where the PSP-3000 was released last week. However, sources suggest that the impact has been far less over here.
