Beta details released for Call of Duty 5 PC

Just sign up to the website to test drive the game

Details have been announced for the Call of Duty: World at War PC beta, and it seems that you simply have to be registered on the official website to take part.

Although there has been no specific start date announced yet, the site says that "all registered users", including those that sign up after the beta begins, will receive the key that allows them to create a profile name and play the beta.

The reason a profile name is needed is because the latest game in the Call of Duty series introduces friends lists and invite options on the PC for the first time.

You'll be able to host your own servers on the beta as will service providers, although the dedicated server will be Windows-only during the testing period.

However, before you start building up your friends list, your account, along with your friends and details will be deleted at the end of the beta, so best bear that in mind.

The full game is due out for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2 and DS on 14th November. We'll keep you updated with any news on beta dates.
