New Xbox Experience to allow remote downloads

But you'll need 128MB free space to install it

The new Xbox Experience will allow 360 owners to buy, queue up and start downloads remotely, Microsoft has said.

This new functionality will be available from launch, announced last week as the 19th November, and will include premium downloads too.

The amount of free space needed for the NXE update has also been announced, and Xboxers will need 128MB of free space to install the mandatory patch.

This obviously causes a small problem for Xbox Arcade owners, as the console ships without a hard drive.

Microsoft acknowledged this, saying in a statement that "a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update".

However, Microsoft has also promised it will be "offering storage solutions to the Xbox Live community", with "more details in the coming weeks".
