If reports are to be believed, Epic is planning on offering five multiplayer maps from Gears of War 1 as free downloadable content for Gears of War 2.

This will see players being able to access five stages - Gridlock, Subway, Canals, Mansion, Tyro Station - for free, via vouchers given with the purchase of Gears 2.

It seems Epic's plan is to deter people from buying pre-owned copies of the sequel, and fork out the cash for it brand new.

It also seems that the popular photo editor feature from Gears 1 will not be a complete feature at the launch of the sequel. This allowed corpses and spectators to press the "B" button to capture the action step by step. However, Epic does plan to complete it in time, and when it is finished, hold a monthly competition for the best shots.
