So if you're a Rock Band fan but are short on space to stash the full drum kit, Mad Catz has come up with a solution in the shape of this portable version.

Officially licensed by Xbox, the drum pads are designed to sit flat on any solid surface, although we'd say it's probably wise to avoid placing them on anything you might damage when you're in the flow of your big drumming solo.

The drumheads are designed to withstand over a million strikes from the included soft-tip drumsticks, and they also come with a compact kick drum pedal for the full drum kit effect.

Currently holding a price tag of $59.99 (around £30), here's hoping this compact kit makes its way to British shores in time for the release of Rock Band 2.
