As the day that finally sees Will Wright's Spore hit our shelves has arrived, EA has taken the opportunity to remind us that Spore Origins for the iPhone and iPod touch will be available "later this month" as well as announce the development of nine new games for the platform.

If you're waiting for Spore Origins to appear on the App Store, EA has said it will be available from Sunday 7th. The game will make full use of the motion-sensing technology in both the iPhone and iPod Touch, allowing you to navigate over 35 levels on a quest to evolve.

Make your own creatures from scratch in the Creature Editor, but remember how you make them will decide how successful your creature is at evolving.

As for the nine other games in development for both the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms, the list includes Yahtzee Adventures, EA Mini Golf, Lemonade Tycoon, Mahjong, Monopoly: Here & Now The World Edition, SimCity, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, Need for Speed Undercover, and The Sims 3.

If you bought Spore for PC today, leave us a comment and let us know if you think it was worth the hype.
