Now we're used to reading about all the bad things Grand Theft Auto does in warping the fragile minds of our youth, but it's very rare that we see a story where GTA is praised for actually doing some good.Recently, a family of five from Illinois in America were travelling to visit relatives in their Jeep Grand Cherokee when it swerved off the road, hit a guardrail and flipped four times before coming to a standstill upside down - the roof caved in and back window smashed.
With her parents trapped, 11-year old Aubrey Plique climbed out of the back window to help them and her two younger siblings to get out of the car. A heroic thing to do under pressure at her age, sure, but also the sensible thing to do you'd think. But no, her mother cites Aubrey's motivation for helping them out as coming from GTA.
"She just knew, from playing Grand Theft Auto. She saw on there that when a car rolls over, it can blow up. She knew that could happen to us"
So there you have it. Had she not have played GTA and learnt that little nugget of useful, if not slightly inaccurate information, she probably would have just let them all stay stuck upside down. Gaming, PS3, Xbox 360, Racing games, Rockstar, EA, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo
