EA has announced the release of two new additions in the Sims 2 franchise.

Firstly, The Sims 2 Apartment Life expansion pack for PC sees you leaving suburbia behind for the excitement of living in the city, with all the fun that comes from moving into a brand new building, exploring the new neighbourhood, making friends and mingling in coffee shops.

As well as the regular version of the expansion pack on its own, there is a limited collection on offer too that includes The Sims 2 Double Deluxe pack made up of The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion Pack, The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff and a video DVD with a host of tips and tricks. If you've never played The Sims 2 before, you'll need this in order to be able to play Apartment Life.

The second release is The Sims 2 Apartment Pets for Nintendo DS, which has players caring for a variety of local pets, including cats, dogs, snakes, hamsters, burds and rabbits. Earn Simoleans by keeping them all happy, well-fed and groomed, then use these to furnish the apartment and buy pet accessories and toys.

Additionally, players can use the Nintendo DS touch screen and stylus to play mini-games and unlock new objects for their Sim and their pets.
