It seems that good sales over the past year have made Nintendo feel sure enough of itself that it has raised its sales forecasts for this year.

The company now thinks that Wii sales will rise by 42% this year, to 26.5 million units, while the DS will reach sales of 30.5 million.

Nintendo also believes its games sales will increase across the board, with Wii games shooting up by 56 per cent to hit 186 million, and DS sales 6.1% to hit the 197 million mark.

Overall, Nintendo reckons its net profit is going to rise by 59% to reach a whopping $3.8 billion. Nice.
