Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced it will be releasing two new PS3 80GB bundles for Europe. The first is due for release on September 10th, and will include the 80GB console, two DualShock 3 pads and a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
The second bundle will be launched on October 29th and looks like it will be aimed at the French market, since it will include an 80GB PS3, one DualShock and a copy of a Blu-Ray movie called Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis - or "Welcome to Ch'tis house" if my A Level French is still up to much.
However, a SCEE spokesperson has apparently said that these bundles will not be launched outside mainland Europe, and there were no plans to bring them to the UK.
The spokesperson said: "The UK does not generally offer hard bundles. These particular bundles are not Europe-wide and will not be offered to the UK market."
You can keep that Blu-ray bundle anyway, thanks very much.
So, will we see any UK bundles at all before Christmas? With a few pretty big releases on the cards in the run up to it, we can't help but think that at least one will pop up on our shores.
