EA announces Celebrity Sports Showdown game

EA has announced its new Wii Sports-esque Celebrity Sports Showdown as part of its new sports Freestyle brand.

Due to be released sometime in the winter, the game allows you to choose from a number of celebrities and sports star to compete across a dozen sporting activities.

Celebrities you can definitely expect to find in the game are Fergie, Avril Lavigne, LeAnn Rimes, Nelly Furtado and Keith Urban.

The world of sport is represented by some people you may not have heard of such as Paul Pierce (basketball apparently), Reggie Bush (American football), Kristi Yamaguchi (figure skating) and Mia Hamm (women's football).

Games up for selection will include Beach Volleyball, Inner-Tubing, Wild Water Canoeing, Hurdle Derby, Slalom Showdown, Cliff Hangers, Smash Badminton, Rapid Fire Archery, Joust Duel, Curling, Arena Dodgeball and Air Racers.
