Fittest UK cities buy most copies of Wii Fit

Just a coincidence?

Cities revealed to be the fittest cities in the UK by Men's Health magazine have bought more copies of Nintendo's Wii Fit than anywhere else, according to an online auction site.

Bristol, London and Southampton racked up the most purchases of the health-orientated game, according to auction site Telebid.

This has also driven sales of Nintendo Wii in these areas with Bristol buying the most Nintendo Wiis compared to other consoles such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with 3 Wiis being won for every one rival console.

Nigel Whiteoak, UK manager of Telebid, said: "These results are really interesting – we can see a real relationship between the cities that are considered "fitter" and the location of our bidders who prefer Nintendo Wiis. This can by no means be a coincidence."

The top 10 cities to buy WiiFit based on the the company's sales statistics are as follows:

1. Bristol

2. Southampton

3. London

4. Manchester

5. Liverpool

6. Glasgow

7. Edinburgh

8. Birmingham

9. Cardiff

10. Leeds
