God of War 3 to be unveiled at E3?

Online rumours suggest so

On the run up to E3, there's always bound to be a rumours as to what we can expect to be announced there.

One of these rumours to add to the pile is the unveiling of God of War 3, which we know is currently in production, but as yet has been given no date for release.

Online rumours, swirling particularly from some French sites, claim that a Sony rep let slip at GDC that the game would be debuted at E3, although adding that it would probably not be playable.

Sony has so far given the non-commital response that the stories are simply "rumour and speculation" – so not a straight denial, but then hardly confirmation either.

The God of War series began on the PS2 in 2005, and cemented its popularity with God of War II in 2007.

A PSP version, entitled God of War: Chains of Olympus, was released earlier this year and is still a feature in the PSP charts.

It looks like we'll have to wait for E3 to get to the bottom of this one.
