Capcom has announced plans to team up with Hollywood studios, and do for video games what Marvel has for comics on the big screen. The company's president, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, said he wanted to revitalise video game movies and see more of them making their way to Hollywood.
"We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon", Tsujimoto explained.
"If realised, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries."
A number of Capcom games have been given the movie treatment, including three titles based on Resident Evil. Capcom is currently joint-funding the $40m Street Fighter movie with 20th Century Fox, based on the high-kicking fighter Chun-Li.
Taking a few guess on which Capcom properties could become movies, we came up with the successful Devil May Cry series, Breath of Fire and Lost Planet among many others. I guess we'll have to wait for an announcement to find out if we were right. Capcom, Game adaptations, OtherConsoles
