Codemasters has announced a playable demo for the PC version of Race Driver: GRID, scheduled for full release at the end of the month.

Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers have been able to download a demo from Xbox Live and PSN respectively, however this is the first time PC users have had access to the demo.

The demo allows players to comete in single-player GRID World events and 12-player online races.

As a single-player in the GRID World showdowns, gamers take to the wheel of a Ford Mustang GT-R on the streets of San Francisco, a Nissan S15 at the Yokohama docks in Japan and a BMW 320si on Spain's Jarama circuit.

For players who want to compete online, the demo delivers 12-player online competitions at the European and US locations.

The full version will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from 30 May, with a Nintendo DS version to follow.
