Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network, developed for PS3 consoles, now has over 3.2 million registered users who have downloaded over 57 million times between them.

These figures show quite a jump since back in January when figures stood at 2.9 million users and 52 million pieces of content.

Announced during Sony's PlayStation Day in London, the company also revealed that SingStar continues to go from strength to strength on the PS3, with players buying an average of 6.3 songs via the SingStore.

Other big figures from the PSN include 1.4 million users playing Resistance: Fall of Man online, with the sequel no doubt looking to increase those figures with its release towards the end of the year.
