The Resident Evil 5 demo has gone live on Xbox Live today, one week ahead of the demo's release on PSN.

Currently the demo is only available for Xbox Live Gold members, but will be made available for Silver members from 29 January.

The demo features three new levels of single player play, with two player co-op both offline and via Xbox Live available to Gold members. We currently know that two of the levels will be known as Assembly Place and Shanty Town.

As well as the new levels, there will also be new characters, starting with Chris Redfield's new partner Sheva Alomar, new weapons and new environments to explore as well.

The full game is set for release on 13 March. Head over to the Xbox Resident Evil 5 website for more details.
