Windows 7 beta extended

More time to get a look at the new OS

PC users still thinking about downloading Windows 7 have been given more time to download the new "beta" operating system by Microsoft.

The beta program, which should have been closed on the 24 January, has now been extended until 10 February.

"Because enthusiasm continues to be so high for the Windows 7 Beta and we don’t want anyone to miss out we will keep the Beta downloads open through February 10th", said Brandon LeBlanc, one of the official Windows 7 team bloggers.

Customers will however have until the 12 February if they have already started the download on or before the 10 February to get the new operating system that will be released officially later this year.

Microsoft has said that the above dates do not however apply to MSDN and TechNet subscribers.
