PHOTOS: Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD2000 camcorder

Sanyo has launched a new flagship HD camcorder on Wednesday at an event in London and Pocket-lint was there to get a hands-on picture gallery.

The new model, which will cost £549.99 and be available in February, will offer users 1080p video resolution at 60 frames per seconds.

Footage can be recorded onto an SDHC card (up to 32GB), while those looking for digital still shots will be pleased to see that you also get a 9-megapixel still camera tucked in the pistol grip form factor.

Sanyo will also offer a series of screw on lenses including a wide-angle offering (pictured) and a macro lens.

  • I have the HD2000. epoque underwater casing is the same as HD1000/1010 and its a great camera! digital still images great even at 2mp. appears to have a very good quality lens!! Posted by marko, UK
  • I have a Panasonic HVX200. The images I've seen from this camera aren't necessarily up to par with it, but with the smaller form factor, I could definitely be less conspicuous...

    On second thought, with that pistol-grip, it might cause some confusion with the quick-to-judge, overly-sensitive crowd!
