UMU, a mobile security specialist, has developed the StopThief application to help protect consumer's mobile phones.

UMU StopThief is said to be a simple, easy-to-use application which blocks the use of your smartphone in the event of it being lost or stolen.

The application automatically notifies the owner if the SIM card is changed and will provide an exact location if the unit is Cell ID or GPS-enabled.

UMU StopThief also allows users to remotely lock the mobile device or delete all the information contained on their phone in case of loss.

UMU StopThief is available for Symbian OS Series 60 and Windows Mobile devices for £9.95 available from www.umuglobal.com.
