70% Brits check up on partner online

Yasni.co.uk urges - check your online rep before your partner does

21 January 2009 10:42 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Over 70% of Brits admit to checking their partner's online activity at least once a month, looking for inappropriate pics and the like.

The stat comes from a study commissioned by www.yasni.co.uk, the world's biggest online people search engine, that revealed although 48% say they trust their partner, 21% would check online activity anyway.

19% of Brits admit their intrusive behaviour is through jealousy with 68% saying they would check their partner's private emails if they knew the password.

The study showed that the North West is the least trusting region, with 64% of people checking up on their partners' online activity at least once a month.

This compared to 56% for Scotland, 51% for the West Midlands, 42% for the South West and 33% in the North East.
