Lastminute.com launches an Android app

Lastminute.com has launched an application for T-Mobile's G1 Android-based phone.

The "nru" app, that stands for "near you" uses the G1's GPS and built-in compass to show users things to do near them, covering bars, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and cafes.

Wherever you are, nru will work out your location and which way you are facing. It will then show you the nearest things to do on either a compass, or as a straight-ahead view when you move the phone up.

As you turn to face different directions, the view will change, showing you what attractions are ahead.

nru is now available on the Android Market in the "Travel" section.
