Barack Obama's official portrait snapped with digital camera

15 January 2009 10:55 GMT / By Stuart Miles

For the first time, an official presidential portrait has been taken with a digital camera.

It's a move that's perhaps appropriate for Barack Obama - said to be a fan of technology - the pic was taken by Pete Souza, the new official White House snapper.

And, as it's a digital picture, the photo's Exif data shows the 1916 x 2608 resolution pic was shot using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II at ISO 100, and a focal length of 105mm, on 13 January, 2009.
