Apple has revealed what the costs will be for replacing the built-in battery in the new 17-inch MacBook Pro.

The battery, that Apple claims will provide up to 8 hours juice and be good for 1000 charges, cannot be swapped out by consumers, but can be replaced in an Apple store.

The cost will include the new battery, installation of said battery by Genius staffer and "environmentally responsible disposal of your depleted battery".

Apple will charge new MacBook Pro owners £139 in the UK, 179 euros in Europe and $179 in the States.
