Sagem has announced the UK availability of its award-winning D16T "Eco" DECT handset.

The handset recently won the French "Designer Observeur" award because of its green credentials and design.

The new D16T "Eco" DECT handset offers digital sound quality, Caller ID, customisable ringtones and an LCD display.

Sagem says the green gadget offers a reduction in energy consumption as well as in the level of radio wave emissions when placed in the base unit.

The handset, packaging and handbook are all made from eco-friendly raw materials.

Available now as a single unit, and is now available from Staples and VOWEurope from £14.99. The D16T will also be available as a trio from May 2009.
