Mio Technology has announced new portable navigation devices, as well as an improved software platform for Mio's next batch of North American product offerings.

Mio will bring four new PNDs to the US market in the first half of 2009.

The Mio Moov S300 features a 3.5-inch display and will come preloaded with maps of the US and Canada. It has Text-to-Speech voice direction in English, Spanish and French and more than 12 million points of interest. It'll go on sale for $199.99.

The Mio Moov S500 is the same as the S300 but offers a 4.7-inch display. This extra screenage will set Americans back $249.99 in total.

The Mio Moov S556 is described as a premium model with a stylish, ultra-flat 4.7-inch display.

Along with the functionality of the two lower-end models it gets Bluetooth for hands-free calling and "Junction View". The S556 will be $299.99.

The Mio Moov S700 will boast a "mammoth" 7-inch display with "MAD Maps" content for travellers who are looking for preloaded scenic routes. This model will be $299.99.
