Memorex has launched the TouchMP at CES, the company's first touchscreen portable media player.

The TouchMP gives users access to 8GB of their favourite music, video and photos from a 2.8-inch QVGA colour touchscreen LCD display with 320 x 240 resolution that supports full-screen photo viewing and album art to accompany playlists.

Adaptable to portrait or landscape mode, the TouchMP supports WMV, MPEG-4, AVI in MP4 format, MP3, WMA, WAV, and displays photos in JPEG format.

Memorex claims the rechargeable battery lasts for up to 50 hours of audio and three hours of video playback.

It also includes a digital FM radio, podcast support and Audible support for downloading audio books with a microSD card slot that supports up to 8GB of additional capacity.

The 8GB Memorex TouchMP, described as a "smart and affordable" option, will be shipping to retailers in the States in March for $99.99.
