CES 2009: Be anywhere in the world, without actually being there

Anybots unveils QA telepresence robot

8 January 2009 19:47 GMT / By Verity Burns

Anybots have introduced the baby of the family in the form of QA, a telepresence robot that ensures you can see and be seen, no matter where in the world you are.

The idea behind it is the ability to create a physical presence at any location where you cannot be, due to things such as time or financial constraints.

The robot can be controlled from any computer and boasts video capability so you can have a "face to face" from London with a colleague in Tokyo.

QA stands 5 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. It is thought it will cost between £10,000 and £20,000, but the company are currently looking for backing and a manufacturing partner before we'll have any chance of seeing this on the market.
