Samsung CES 2009 line-up continues with the launch of the ST50, an ultra-slim compact, measuring just 14mm thick. It certainly looks the part, with a 2.7-inch QVGA LCD screen that takes up the majority of the back of the camera, and minimal buttons to keep the design clean and chic.
The camera boasts a good 12-megapixels, as well as dual image stabilisation, a highly sensitive ISO 3200, and includes Samsung's Angle/Composition Guide and Smart Scene Recognition. There are 11 optimised picture pre-settings in total, including Portrait, Night portrait, Macro and Macro Colour.
The ST50 also features face detection technology, including a blink detection mode and smile mode as well. There is also a "beauty shot" mode which automatically retouches skin for a "brighter" complexion.
The ST50, priced at £179, will be available in mid grey, arty red and blue black, and will be on our shelves from March 2009. Cameras, Samsung, 12 megapixels, CES2009, Compact cameras
